These are just random character portraits...been doing a lot of them lately. The best ones are the ones I did most recently for Draye...but they all seem to have uploaded a little darker than they should have. I think before I upload an image I need to consider upping the brightness and contrast a smidge just to make sure it stays somewhere near what I had intended after the upload mangles it.

Okay. That does it.

I have to have a commission done by you.

I'll email with questions.

And pictures are incredible. Simply incredible.

Ohh, you never showed me the finished black-and-white drawing of Jesse. Stunning, as always.

I need to make icons. Bleh...if only I had all my brushes and fonts on the version of Photoshop on this PC...

Wow, these are gorgeous. Do you use photo reference (I'm meaning in the classic sense of the term... a picture you *look* at, not what a lot of younger artists call 'reference' which is a picture they *manipulate*)? These are incredible. The eyes on the bottom one...

yeah...it's still not done done...I have a full body sketched out the hips were a lil wonky though so I just got terribly lazy and cropped em off XD.

I don't manipulate. I've found what works best for me is either drawing from minds-eye or I find several reference photos for various characteristics (I like this guy's nose and this one's eyes and this one's hands) and I print them all out and refer back to them as I draw the initial sketch(Bristol, HB and 2B pencil). When doing a character portrait for someone, I do LIKE to have some idea what the character should look like, so I often request a model reference; for instance Draye had some model guy who she said was "almost" what she saw Marcus looking like...so I used that as a base and prettied up his features.

Heh..yeah...I'm sure you wanted to know all that XD. I'm tired, I get a bit rambley LOL.
